Free Concert With Special Guest: Wednesday 7:30PM In the ‘Jazz Cave’, Suite 314C In the Basement of Family and friends please come join the KJYO’s Spring Fling as the band plays compositions and arrangements by Skip Lane, and features Skip as saxophone soloist This sounds like a fun event to attend, "Progressive Dinner and House Show" that is a fundraising event for the PARKRIDGE COMMUNITY MURAL PROJECT. The community event is to raise funds to match the grant provided by the City of Knoxville Department of Parks and Recreation for the enhancement of the First Creek Greenway. The City of Knoxville and residents of Parkridge are seeking local artist submissions for the mural project. The mural site is on both sides of I-40 Underpass located on Sixth Avenue between Washington Avenue and E. Glenwood that consist of 4 panels. The 2013 East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Summit, June 14th 2013 The Tennessee Economic Council on Women (http://www.tennesseewomen.org/) presents its 7th annual event, East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Summit. The topic this year is “Closing the Gap.” The event will be held on June 14, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Closing the Gap in LEADERSHIP Closing the Gap in CONFIDENCE Closing the Gap in WAGES The Smoky Mountain Storytelling Association will be celebrating the World Storytelling Day March 23, 2013 from 2-4pm in Gatlingburg. The Theme is “Fate and Fortune.” Storytellers are members of the National Storytelling Network, Tennessee Storytelling Association, Nashville, Smoky Mountain Storytellers Association, Knoxville and Jonesborough, TN. They will entertain you with stories of humor and history based on the culture and heritage of the Smokies. These stories could be mountain lore, fairy tales, personal experiences or totally on the far side!
The Joy of Music School is a nonprofit organization that provides free music lessions for children who cannot afford them. On April 13, 2013 a benefit for the school brings together music, memories and support for their beloved friend, Rick Wolfe. This benefit will bring together musicians from those who performed with Rick. Rick, an extrodinary musician, was a longtime member of the Delta Flyers and Body Heat.
